Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James added yet another accolade to his stocked trophy cabinet with his 70th Player of the Week award.
James averaged 24.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 9.7 assists per game in a four-game stretch, where the Lakers posted a 3-1 record.
James began the week with a 30-point, 15-assist performance against the Dallas Mavericks last Sunday, though the Lakers narrowly lost the game. He sat the following game against the Oklahoma City Thunderâalso a lossâbut put together great numbers in the following three games.
The 23-year veteran put the team on his back for the first of three wins to close the week, leading the team in points (26), rebounds (8) and assists (11) on the road against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday. He came out and led the team in scoring once again Friday with 28 points, and also logged double digit assists for the third game in a row.

James took his foot off the gas a little bit in the final game of the week against the Utah Jazz, but still had 18 points, four rebounds and six assists in the final game of the regular season.
After dropping into the fourth seed following Luka Doncic and Austin Reavesâ injuries, the Lakers are set to face the Houston Rockets in the first round of the 2025-26 NBA Playoffs.
The Lakers won two of three games against the Rockets in the regular season, but the series will be a much different challenge without Reaves and Doncicâat least for the first few games.
