Alex de Minaur started the 2026 season strong with a title in Rotterdam and a quarter-final at the Australian Open, but has since struggled, achieving only one quarter-final in his last five tournaments.

Alex de Minaur’s consistency is one of his more impressive attributes, but his standards are beginning to slip in 2026.
The year got off to a strong start, with a title win in Rotterdam and another quarter-final appearance at the Australian Open.
But things have taken a turn since then. In five tournaments, he’s managed just one quarter-final appearance.
He may still be ranked inside the top 10, but his recent form is definitely something he’ll need to address soon.

Following his victory at the Rotterdam Open, De Minaur entered the Acapulco Open as the second seed.
But his stay was short-lived, falling to Patrick Kypson in the opening round before he could get any momentum.
He’s suffered similar exits in both Miami and Barcelona, with losses that are just as concerning given who they’ve come against.
None of those defeats came against players ranked inside the ATP top 20, and some were well outside it.
Kypson, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Hamad Medjedovic were all outside the top 50 when they beat him.
De Minaur had been one of those expected to close the gap behind Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, but he hasn’t looked anywhere near that level this season.
The timing of De Minaur’s dip in form couldn’t be worse, coming right in the middle of a demanding stretch on the ATP calendar.
Next up for him is a tough run through Europe’s clay swing, with Masters events in Madrid and Rome leading into Roland Garros.

While he hasn’t committed to any smaller clay tournaments just yet, that could change if his early exits continue.
Looking ahead to the grass season, De Minaur has already pencilled in Queen’s as his first event in June.
