Barcelona winger target agrees personal terms with Bayern Munich – report

Barcelona appear to be falling behind in the race for Anthony Gordon after fresh reports claim the winger has already agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich.

According to TalkSport, the Bavarian giants have made significant progress in discussions with the Newcastle United attacker, although the deal is still far from complete because of Newcastle’s huge financial demands.

It must be remembered that Barcelona have been monitoring several wide attacking options, with Gordon emerging as one of the names appreciated internally.

However, despite the interest from the Catalan side, a move to Camp Nou has always appeared highly difficult because of the financial package involved.

Extravagant fee involved

The report suggests Newcastle value Gordon at around £75 million (€86m) or potentially even more, while Bayern are hoping to complete the deal for closer to £55 million (€63m).

That gap remains one of the biggest obstacles preventing an agreement between the clubs.

For Barcelona, the situation appears even more complicated, given the club’s well-known financial limitations and the overall cost attached to the operation.
