After salvaging a homestand split with their thrilling walk-off win Wednesday, the Toronto Blue Jays open a seven-game road trip Friday against the Detroit Tigers.

Before Daulton Varsho's 10th-inning grand slam against the Rays, Toronto had lost seven of nine games. That dramatic turnaround could provide a nice springboard into a weekend set against a struggling Tigers team that has dropped three consecutive series.

Trey Yesavage gets the ball Friday for the Jays, hoping to add a bit more length after three outstanding outings following his delayed start to the season. While the 22-year-old right-hander has yet to exceed 5.1 innings in a game as he returns from a shoulder impingement, he has allowed just one run this season while striking out 15 in 13.1 innings.

While the Jays' offense hasn't been especially productive so far, Japanese newcomer has pounded 10 home runs and Toronto could get well against an injury-riddled Tigers pitching staff.
