The Milwaukee Bucks are watching the playoffs at home with only one year remaining on Giannis Antetokounmpo's contract.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are trending toward joining them unless they can turn around a convincing 2-0 deficit to the East's top-seeded Detroit Pistons.
A big reason the Cavs struggled in Game 2 was a 9-point, 1-rebound performance from Evan Mobley, and now not only is Giannis in trade rumors, but Mobley has been roped in.
NBA writer Gery Woelfel took to X on Friday to share a wild rumor he's heard:
"A couple of people who I trust have told me in recent weeks that they believe the Bucks will trade Antetokounmpo to the Cavaliers. The key player coming to the Bucks would be Evan Mobley."
The rumors suggest a potential trade involving Giannis Antetokounmpo and Evan Mobley, as the Bucks consider their options with Giannis's contract situation.
The Cavaliers are facing a 2-0 deficit against the Detroit Pistons, partly due to poor performances, including a lackluster game from Evan Mobley.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has only one year remaining on his current contract with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Woelfel may not have been fully genuine, though, because this was the last sentence he wrote: (Jon) Horst apparently believes Mobley would perfectly complement Myles Turner and give the Bucks two of the softest big men in the league."
It's not clear whether this deal would make sense on either side of the coin, but that's hard to know for sure without seeing what all the pieces involved would be.
The biggest downside for the Cavs would be that it's unlikely Giannis would re-sign in Cleveland unless his lone year there went exceptionally well.
For the Bucks, they'd have to have immense belief in Mobley as a player who can keep improving and hasn't plateaued already.
Whether the Woelfel musing has any truth to it or not is almost besides the point. It just sums up what this offseason is going to be like in Milwaukee, along with what it might be like in Cleveland if this series with Detroit wraps up as one-sided as it's currently looking.
These won't be the last of the rumors or speculation. It's just getting started.
