In what seems like many years ago now, the Chicago Cubs had one of the most fun teams Major League Baseball has ever seen.
It's unfortunate that things didn't go the way the Cubs were hoping after winning that World Series, but winning the World Series will still ensure they're remembered forever in 2016.
Looking back on it, the Cubs actually made a lot of the right decisions by allowing some of those guys to walk. Outside of Kyle Schwarber, moving on from guys like Kris Bryant, Javier Baez, and some others from that team, honestly, played out the way they were hoping for.
Bryant and Baez have been absolutely horrendous since that moment, with Bryant being the worst of the bunch because of all of his injuries.
He took a seven-year, $182 million deal with the Colorado Rockies, and it has perhaps been the worst contract baseball has ever seen. He's yet to play more than 80 games in a season and has only played 11 this year, currently on the 60-day IL.

āKris Bryant's contract might be the worst in the majors right now, given the fact that he hasn't played a game this season and there's a non-zero chance he'll never play another MLB game. Thereās no chance any team would take Bryant's contract right now, even if it isn't the least tradable in baseball.
The only promising part is that he's done in 2028, so it's only two more years. However, even if a team were to get him for free, there's just no hope for him to stay on the field.
It's a very sad thing to say because he was on a trajectory to be a very good player in this league and still will go down as one, but the injuries definitely ruined things.
