During his time in the UFC, Darren Till trained alongside Khamzat Chimaev, and the two developed a strong friendship.
Before UFC 328, Till naturally backed Chimaev to retain his middleweight title but didnāt shy away from acknowledging Strickland as a tough opponent.
But after seeing how things played out in the main event, he seemed pretty convinced that his best version would have what it takes to beat Strickland.
Speaking on a live stream with Kick.com, Till said:
āI look at Sean Strickland now, heās just beat Khamzat. I know for a fact me 100 per cent healthy I take him out. I know I would. Everyone even says it. Itās easy for me to say it, heās the champion, but I trust in my skill set.ā
Till hasnāt closed the door on returning to MMA. But there are still questions around whether his knee has healed enough for him to jump back into action.
If he does come back, heāll need to prove himself against some of the top contenders before getting a shot at testing that prediction against Strickland.
