Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani Gets Complaint From Blue Jays Again

Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani was on the receiving end of a complaint from the Toronto Blue Jays during the series finale.

Ohtani is such a unique player in modern baseball as he makes full starts while also hitting leadoff for the Dodgers.

Even when National League pitchers used to hit at the bottom of the order, there were never great hitters who pitched.

Ohtani, however, takes on the challenge of being a true two-way player, which leads him to make pitstop-like changes between his hitting and pitching gear.

During the 2025 World Series, Ohtani got complaints from the Blue Jays over how long he would take in between innings.

However, umpires were steadfast in allowing Ohtani all the time that he needed.

On April 8, during the regular season series between the former title foes, Ohtani was getting ready to pitch, and George Springer talked to the umpire about how much time Ohtani was being granted to get ready.

Dave Roberts was noticeably frustrated over the complaint, though nothing further happened after Springer voiced his thoughts.

Ohtani would go on to shut down the Blue Jays overall, allowing no earned runs, one unearned run over six innings of work. His command and stuff were not great, but he still got outs and kept performing at a high level.
