Former Florida Gators women's basketball star Liv McGill has found a new home through the NCAA transfer portal, landing with the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Tuesday. It took just over a week for her to choose her new school.
The 5-foot-9-inch native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, was among the top scorers in the nation this past season, averaging 22.5 points per game along with 6.1 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 2.6 steals while appearing in 31 of the team's 33 total games — all starts. The McDonald's All-American arrived on campus as the top recruit to ever commit to the Orange and Blue, and was the team's offensive captain during her two-year tenure.
McGill opened up the 2025-26 campaign with a combined 64 points, 17 rebounds, 19 assists and 12 steals over the first two games, making her the the first NBA, WNBA or Division I men's or women's player this century to have 60/15/15/10 in those categories over a two-game span since Dwyane Wade acheived the feat in 2009, according to OptaStats.
She eventually earned an All-American honorable mention and a spot on the First Team All-SEC Team, along with numerous other accolades. McGill was the first Gator in program history to be named the USBWA National Player of the Week on Nov. 11, 2025 — as well as SEC Player of the Week — after averaging 27.7 points, 7.3 assists and five steals, leading Florida to a 3-0 start.
That stretch included a historic effort against the Chattanooga Mocs on Nov. 6, 2025, when she became the first Gator ever — men's or women's — to score at least 38 points while handing out at least 10 assists and swiping at least seven steals in the same game. Those 38 points were also the most ever scored by a Florida basketball player at home in the history of the program.
