The Cleveland Guardians may trade Jaison Chourio to enhance their lineup for Jose Ramirez. This move is speculated as the team seeks more offensive power.

The Cleveland Guardians are getting their usual production from Jose Ramirez in the heart of the batting lineup.
Chase DeLauter is helping in the early going, too.
But as usual, this Cleveland team could probably use more hitting. And while the Guardians don't always swing big trades, it's at least something looming down the road if they're in contention but still need more thump.
Who might the Guardians trade? ESPN's David Schoenfield makes a suggestion in a new article on Monday: Jaison Chourio.
Chourio is a minor league outfielder and the younger brother of Milwaukee Brewers rising star Jackson Chourio.
The younger Chourio still has a little ways to go to reach the major leagues, but he's a well-regarded prospect in his own right.
"The Cleveland philosophy is to venture very carefully when trading away prospects for short-term acquisitions, so a couple of lower-rated guys would likely get traded," Schoenfield writes. "Chourio -- yes, the younger brother of Jackson -- has plenty of tools and good plate discipline, but he didn't have any power last season in High-A after suffering a season-ending wrist injury in August 2024. The 21-year-old is back in High-A ball again and looking better at the plate."
The Guardians are considering trading Jaison Chourio to strengthen their batting lineup and provide more support for Jose Ramirez.
Jaison Chourio is a rising MLB star whose potential trade could impact the Guardians' offensive capabilities as they aim for contention.
Trading Jaison Chourio could provide the Guardians with necessary hitting power, potentially improving their chances of success in the season.

Schoenfield does caution in his article that Cleveland often doesn't do a whole lot by the time the trade deadline rolls around.
"Just because the Guardians might be in a playoff race doesn't mean they'll make a big move," Schoenfield writes. "In fact, they traded Shane Bieber last year and made the postseason anyway. In 2024, they made a couple of minor additions, acquiring outfielder Lane Thomas and pitcher Alex Cobb, so they won't necessarily do nothing."
There are likely some Cleveland fans that would prefer to keep Chourio around and see what he can become.
But if a move is there to be made, maybe Chourio will be enough to get it done.
