Formula 1 returns to racing after an extended schedule delay caused by the war in Iran. Now the Miami Grand Prix brings racing back with some changes to the regulations. Here’s when, where, and how to watch race week.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been a month since Formula 1 last raced. When the Grand Prix of Japan ended on March 29, the FIA and Formula 1 opted to cancel the Bahrain Grand Prix and Saudi Arabian Grand Prix due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. With it, the F1 schedule dropped to 22 races, creating a five-week break.
At long last, the Miami Grand Prix returns on Friday. With the break, the FIA and F1 have used the additional time to tweak the regulations following driver complaints about the first three races of the season. The changes should allow for better pure racing over harvesting battery power. The additional time has allowed the technical teams to get a better handle on the changes to the car that were introduced for the 2026 season.
The first taste of F1 after the break will arrive on Friday, May 1 and end with the Grand Prix on Sunday, May 3. Here’s the schedule that includes pre-event coverage, all times Eastern Time:
FRIDAY, MAY 1
SATURDAY, MAY 3
SUNDAY, MAY 4
In the U.S., all Formula 1 races are on Apple TV. Fans have the ability to watch the race with the F1 TV feed, the Sky Sports feed, and driver cams for each driver on the grid.
The F1 Miami Grand Prix is scheduled for this week, following a month-long break in the racing schedule.
Viewers can find details on how to watch the Miami Grand Prix by checking official F1 broadcasting channels and streaming services.
The delays in the F1 racing schedule were caused by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, leading to the cancellation of several Grand Prix events.
