Sunrisers Hyderabad may soon welcome back star pacer Pat Cummins, who is set to undergo a fitness test on Wednesday in Australia. If he passes, he could return to the team by April 17.
NEW DELHI: Sunrisers Hyderabad received a major boost following their resounding win over Rajasthan Royals on Monday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, with star pacer Pat Cummins likely to be available soon. According to a report in Cricbuzz, SRHâs bowling attack could get even stronger with the Australian quick set to bolster their pace arsenal.
As per the report, Cummins will undergo a fitness test on Wednesday in Australia.
If he clears the test, there is a strong possibility that he could feature for Sunrisers Hyderabad, with the pacer expected to return to Hyderabad on April 17.
Cummins had arrived in India on March 27 but returned to Australia on April 2.
After dismantling Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad will next face Chennai Super Kings on April 18 at home.
SRH had already dominated the Royals clash through their pace duo of Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain, both of whom picked four wickets each to put Rajasthan Royals under pressure. The SRH pace attack is expected to become even more formidable once Cummins joins the squad.
Before the start of the season, Cummins had expressed hope of featuring in the latter half of the tournament if everything went according to plan.
"I'm back bowling. I'm bowling basically every third day at the moment. We've mapped out a plan to get me right by the middle of the tournament. So hopefully, if nothing goes wrong, I'll play the back half, plus the final," Cummins said.
Pat Cummins is expected to return to Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 17 if he passes his fitness test.
Pat Cummins' return would significantly strengthen Sunrisers Hyderabad's bowling attack, enhancing their chances in the IPL.
Pat Cummins returned to Australia shortly after arriving in India for a fitness assessment and to prepare for his potential return to the team.
