Jacob Misiorowski Departs Brewers Game with Injury
Jacob Misiorowski was giving Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy an excellent start, no-hitting the Washington Nationals into the sixth inning. Misiorowski, though, was forced to leave Friday night's game.
Thankfully, the injury didn't seem to be too serious and the Brewers were able to mount some offense. Entering the ninth inning, Milwaukee had a 6-1 lead and they were able to keep the Nationals off the scoreboard for the victory.
After throwing a pitch, Misiorowski called out the Brewers' training staff and Murphy came out, too. Misiorowski was forced out with what was called right hamstring tightness.
Reliever Aaron Ashby came on to take over and held the Nationals hitless through the fifth inning. Yet in the sixth, Ashby gave up a hit and the no-hitter was gone.
The Brewers jumped out early in the first inning as Garrett Mitchell led off the game with a double. Mitchell made his way around to third base, and a passed ball by Nationals catcher Drew Millas allowed him to score.
That put Milwaukee up 1-0.
In the top of the third inning, William Contreras' RBI single brought home David Hamilton and let the Brewers extend their lead to 2-0. Then, in the fifth inning, Brice Turang and Contreras led off with singles. Jake Bauers followed with a walk, loading the bases.
Jacob Misiorowski sustained right hamstring tightness during the game.
The Brewers maintained a 6-1 lead and won the game against the Nationals.
Jacob Misiorowski is a pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers, and he was no-hitting the Washington Nationals into the sixth inning before his injury.

Luis Rengifo then grounded into a force out, Turang scored, and Milwaukee was up 3-0. Tyler Black came up and doubled to left, allowing Contreras to score and put the Brewers into a 4-0 advantage.
Brady House's RBI groundout allowed CJ Abrams to score and the Nationals moved within 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Brew Crew, though, answered with two eighth-inning runs. Sal Frelick led off with a single, and Blake Perkins reached on a fielder's choice. Frelick was able to move to second base on an error by Nationals second baseman Nasim Nunez. David Hamilton reached base on a bunt single.
Now, with the bases loaded and two outs, Contreras singled to right field. Frelick and Perkins scored, giving Milwaukee a 6-1 lead.
But the big story is how Misiorowski, before having to leave the game, was simply fooling Nationals hitters with his overpowering stuff. In his 5 1/3 innings, he didn't allow a hit or a run, walked two, and struck out eight Nationals hitters.
Seeing Misiorowski leave the game isn't a look that Murphy wanted to see happen at all. Earlier on Friday, Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff went on the 15-day Injured List.
Should Misiorowski miss some time or, well, find himself on the Injured List, too, then Murphy will have to make additional adjustments to his starting rotation.
The Brewers and Nationals will continue their three-game weekend series at Nationals Park with afternoon games on Saturday and Sunday.
