The Los Angeles Rams could go in any number of directions in the draft next week and USA Today says that Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love would be a perfect fit for the Rams, even if itâs one of the draftâs least likely pairings. Reporter Ayrton Ostly stated in his April 17 article that Love to L.A. would make them an âunstoppable forceâ:
âThis is one of the least likely pairings but, if it came true, this would be perfect for a team going all-in to win the Super Bowl in 2026. Los Angeles has one of the best wide receiver tandems in the NFL, an MVP quarterback and one of the best play-callers in the league. Adding in a dynamic threat at running back could make them a truly unstoppable force.â
If Love were added to the Ramsâ offense, it goes without saying that the team would be the heavy favorite for the Super Bowl in February. He would make an already dangerous offense that much more lethal on the ground. Over the last two seasons at Notre Dame, Love rushed for over 2,500 yards and 35 touchdowns, averaging 6.9 yards per carry in both campaigns.
Heâs been called one of the best running back prospects of the last decade, up there with the likes of Bijan Robinson and . Although Jeantyâs rookie season in didnât go as planned, the Rams offer a much better supporting cast than the Raiders do and Love would likely hit the ground running back in L.A..
Jeremiyah Love's dynamic running ability could complement the Rams' strong offense, potentially making them an unstoppable force.

Despite being a perfect fit on paper, the pairing is deemed unlikely due to the unpredictable nature of the NFL draft.
Adding Love to the Rams' offense could significantly increase their chances of winning the Super Bowl in 2026.

The Houston Texans traded significant draft capital to select Will Anderson Jr. in 2023, giving up multiple high picks. Three years later, with Anderson signing a record contract for a non-quarterback, the Texans' gamble appears justified.

Love is a first-round lock expected to go in the top-10, potentially top-5, probably taking him out of L.A.âs range unless they trade up. Only seven backs have been selected in the first round since 2020, and the Fighting Irish star will become the eighth.
Love to the Rams has been a dream scenario in many mock drafts for much of this offseason and Los Angeles doesnât exactly need him, but the front office would probably happily take him if he somehow fell out of the top 10. Love and Kyren Williams would be a dynamic pairing of its own.
Sharing a backfield with Kyren for a couple of years, Love would have time to acclimate to Sean McVayâs offense and keep from wearing out the tread on his tires before he turns 24.
Not yet 21, Love is the youngest running back in the draft and Dane Brugler ranked him as the second best player in the class overall behind edge rusher Arvell Reese. He also ran a 4.36 40-yard dash, making him a burner on top of being a great running back.
This kind of move would undoubtedly put Blake Corum out of a job, just two years after he was drafted in the third round out of Michigan. Does Love represent a potential 10-year future at running back though? He could also help right now as the Rams look to take back the NFC West and get to the Super Bowl.
As Iâve said in a post earlier this week, the Rams must draft players who will help them win now, and Love is one of those players who can do exactly that. He would be the perfect selection for a team with Super Bowl aspirations. Again, L.A. doesnât need Love, but do you really think they wouldnât do ANYTHING to maximize whatâs left of Matthew Staffordâs career?
While the Rams selecting Love in the 2026 NFL draft would indeed be one of the draftâs most unlikely pairings, that doesnât mean it would be impossible. The Notre Dame star would be the perfect fit in an offense that could always use more juice for another run at the Lombardi Trophy.
