Local Philadelphia radio station makes one last push for Kenyon Sadiq

The Philadelphia Eagles aren’t the only ones doing draft homework this time of year. Their fans are, too. So are the local sports stations. Lately, several names have taken on lives of their own. Add Kenyon Sadiq to that conversation.

The buzz has been steady for weeks. It has only intensified recently, but it picked up even more steam when 97.5 The Fanatic entertained the discussion just hours before showtime at the NFL Draft.

That will no doubt give fans another platform to make one last pitch. That pitch is simple. Don’t overthink it. Sadiq is widely viewed as one of the most talented tight ends in this class, and the idea of pairing him with the man he'll replace, Dallas Goedert, even temporarily. has sparked plenty of intrigue.

The long-term angle only adds fuel to the fire. Goedert isn’t getting any younger, and Philadelphia will eventually need a succession plan at the position, just as they do along the offensive line with Lane Johnson. Still, reality has a way of complicating things. The Eagles have other needs, and more immediate ones at that. Edge rusher... Offensive tackle... Depth in the trenches... Those priorities don’t disappear just because a dynamic pass-catching tight end is available, and then there’s the board.

Teams like the Baltimore Ravens (they pick 14th) and Carolina Panthers (19) have also been connected to Sadiq, which means Philadelphia may not even get the opportunity to make that decision.
