Following a dominant first-leg display in Paris, Luis Enrique has named a strong group for the trip to Merseyside, underlining just how difficult the task will be for us.

PSG confirm strong squad for Anfield

As confirmed via PSG’s official website, the French champions have brought a wealth of attacking and midfield quality for the clash with Liverpool.

That list includes the likes of Achraf Hakimi, Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, all of whom caused us serious problems in the first leg.

We know the task ahead of us was always going to be tough but there certainly hasn’t been any early boosts with the squad we see preparing to face us.

Barcola boost adds further concern

One of the most notable inclusions is Bradley Barcola, who had been a doubt heading into the fixture but has now travelled with the squad.

Reports in France had already suggested the 23-year-old winger could feature from the bench, giving PSG another dangerous option in the final stages of the game.

That depth could prove crucial, especially in a tie where we’re likely to have to push forward and take risks in search of goals.

At the same time, there’s been plenty of discussion around whether Rio Ngumoha should start for us after his standout display against Fulham, with the teenager offering a direct threat that could trouble PSG’s defence.

Ultimately, though, Enrique’s squad selection shows we’ll be facing a team packed with quality across the pitch, and if we’re to produce a famous European comeback, we’ll have to overcome one of the strongest squads left in the competition.
