— Sarah Langs (@SlangsOnSports) April 16, 2026 Trout now has five home runs in the series, making him the fourth player to ever hit five in a series against the Yankees. He tied himself with George Bell in 1990, Darrell Evans in 1985 and Jimmie Foxx in 1933. All five of Trout’s homers this month have come against the Yankees, and he also managed nine RBIs in the four games. He recorded six hits in 16 at-bats, and served as a key component in the Angels’ four-game series split. On the year, Trout has a .246/.416/.594 slash line, giving him a 1.010 OPS through 19 games played. He has seven home runs throughout the year, and has driven in 16 runs as well. He also has 18 walks, which is tied for the most in MLB. The Angels went 2-2 in their series against the Yankees, and could bring themselves within 0.5 games of first place in the AL West depending on the result of the Athletics’ game against the Texas Rangers. They get back into action against the San Diego Padres tomorrow, and will look to continue to win games at the Big A.
