The former Missouri basketball point guard, who spent three seasons in Columbia under head coach Dennis Gates, announced Thursday via his Instagram account that he is transferring to Florida State for his senior season.
Robinson is a Tallahassee, Florida, native, which means he will spend his final year of eligibility playing in his hometown.
Miami, where former Mizzou assistant Charlton 'C.Y.' Young is currently an assistant, emerged as a potential landing spot for Robinson. Kentucky also reportedly held a call with the transfer point guard. Instead, he's heading to Florida State.
The point guard was selected to the SEC All-Defensive team after a stellar sophomore season in 2024-25, but he struggled this past year and lost his starting job to T.O. Barrett, who also has entered the transfer portal.
In three seasons with Mizzou after signing as a three-star prospect in the Class of 2023, Robinson played in 96 games with Missouri, including 50 starts. He averaged 7.4 points, 2.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game with the Tigers.
At his best, Robinson was an impactful defender, strong distributor with a near-2:1 assist-to-turnover ratio over his career and a threat driving downhill and getting to the free throw line.
His lulls in form, however, were frequent, and a split between Missouri and the point guard could prove mutually beneficial.

Florida State is heading into Year 2 under head coach Luke Loucks, who was a point guard for the Seminoles from 2008-12. That timeline overlaps with Gates’ first couple of years as an assistant under Leonard Hamilton in Tallahassee.
Former Missouri director of scouting and analytics Michael Fly is FSU’s current general manager and an assistant coach.
Robinson has one remaining year of eligibility. He is one of four Mizzou players — joining Barrett, combo guard Sebastian Mack and wing Jacob Crews — to enter the transfer portal in this window.
The Tigers have signed three players out of the portal so far, with Tennessee big man Jaylen Carey, Providence wing Jamier Jones and Kansas forward Bryson Tiller each committing to the Tigers.
The transfer portal opened for entries April 7 and will remain open through April 22. Teams can still sign players who have already entered their name into the portal after the April 22 deadline. Missouri is likely to target guard depth in the upcoming weeks.
