There was a scary situation for the Missouri Tigers over the weekend, with the team reporting that star running back Ahmad Hardy was the victim of a shooting at a concert in Mississippi on Sunday morning. Hardy is reportedly in stable condition.

Hardy led the SEC in rushing last year with 1,649 yards and 16 touchdowns, bursting onto the scene after a freshman year at Louisiana-Monroe, where he rushed for 1,351 yards and 13 touchdowns. Going into 2026, Hardy was projected to be one of the top players in the conference once again.
Depending on how long Hardy is sidelined, the Tigers will lean on a backfield that contains both redshirt junior Jamal Roberts and redshirt sophomore Xai'Shaun Edwards.
