Maddie Bose was untouchable and Ava Lopez broke a scoreless ballgame with a three-run blast, propelling the Sentinels past the Townies, 6-1.
Bose and East Providenceâs Cassie Dulude exchanged zeroes for four innings and it became apparent the first team that scored was going to win. That ended up being Smithfield, which got a leadoff single from Elaina Reed to get the fifth inning going.
With one out and two runners on, Lopez stepped up and broke the tie in a hurry with a titanic blast to left field to make it 3-0. The Sentinels added to the lead on back-to-back RBI singles by Giannah Tutt and Reed.
Bose left little doubt about the lead sticking. While EP managed an unearned run in the seventh, she closed out the game with no drama. Bose gave up two hits in the game and struck out five and helped out on offense with three hits.

Bay View led 2-1 after two innings, but Moses Brown came up with a run off Fredricks to tie the game in the bottom of the third.
