ESPN's Mike Reiss reported that offensive lineman Jared Wilson will be trading in the No. 58 jersey he wore last year in his rookie season for a No. 55 jersey. Wilson will be returning to his roots, as he wore the No. 55 jersey during his collegiate career at Georgia.
Defensive lineman Eric Gregory, who wore the No. 55 last year, will be switching to No. 95 for the Patriots this season. Undrafted rookie safety Peter Manuma will be wearing the No. 34 jersey, while his fellow undrafted rookie, edge rusher Xavier Holmes, will be wearing No. 58.
Patriots wide receiver Kyle Williams was expected to switch to Stefon Diggs' former jersey No. 8, but he has decided to stick with No. 18.
The Patriots have been busy building their 90-man roster ahead of training camp, which is slated for late July.
With rookie minicamp in the rearview, the team will turn its immediate focus to organized team activities and mandatory minicamp. Younger players, like Manuma and Holmes in particular, will be fun to watch as they compete for a roster spot.
