Nate Bittle, an Oregon Duck center, is aiming for the NBA Draft after being snubbed from the NBA combine. He impressed at the G League Elite Camp, scoring nine points and grabbing seven rebounds in a scrimmage.
Having entered the 2026 NBA Draft, it's not a certainty that Oregon Duck center Nate Bittle will be selected. In fact, he was snubbed from the NBA scouting combine, where over 70 draft-eligible players partake in agility and strength testing, on-court drills and scrimmages. Instead, Bittle is having to go the route of the G League Elite Camp, where he'll aim to earn a late invite to the NBA combine.
Through one day, it appears that that goal may come to fruition. Spotrac's Keith Smith spoke to NBA executives and scouts at the G League Elite Camp, with various individuals mentioning Bittle as someone who impressed.
According to the box score of the scrimmage that Bittle participated in, he played 12 minutes and recorded nine points and grabbed seven rebounds while converting on four of his five shots from the field and one of his two attempts from three-point range. He came off the bench for his team and provided a much-needed spark in their 97-87 victory.
Bittle had a bit of an underwhelming senior campaign with the Ducks, as a lower leg injury sidelined him for seven games. He averaged 16.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game on 46.5% shooting from the field as Oregon went just 12-20.
The 7-footer had the opportunity to enter the draft after the 2024-25 season, but decided to return. The decision may have cost him a spot in the draft — though if the former Duck can continue to impress at the G League Elite Camp, earn an invite to the NBA Scouting Combine and continue to excel, it's certainly possible that he could defy the odds.
