Ohio State is showing out in the NFL draft first round. Moments after receiver Carnell Tate became the first Buckeye off the board (somewhat surprisingly), he was followed by Arvelle Reese at No. 5. Just two picks after that, linebacker Sonny Styles was selected by the Washington Commanders.
Styles had an excellent Ohio State career full of highlights and big plays, yet the one I think of most about him is a play I feel far too few appreciate. On Jack Sawyer's legendary scoop-and-score, Styles ran down Texas running back Quintrevion Wisner and blocked him all the way down the field to stop him from catching Sawyer.
Styles offers great versatility because he played safety and was then moved to linebacker. He has great length and athleticism and is a long, fast-twitch player who can do a lot of things on the football field.
