Optimism about Manchester United’s Ederson move, deal can prove to be bargain

Serie A side Atalanta are now preparing to lose Ederson and there is now keen optimism that a deal with Manchester United will go through.

The Red Devils need midfield signings, with Casemiro on his way out and doubts rising about the situation of Manuel Ugarte.

Tuttomercatoweb report that Manchester United are intent on making a move for Ederson. While they haven’t made an offer yet, there is optimism that he can very much end up at Old Trafford in the summer.

Atletico Madrid have eased their grip on the player despite having agreed personal terms in January. There are great relations between La Dea and the Spanish side but despite that, Ederson is believed to be much more keen on a move to Manchester United.

Atalanta demand €50m and Michael Carrick’s side may not have problems affording that. La Dea will use the funds to reinvent their midfield, with Maarten De Roon not getting any younger either.

Ederson adds value to United

In a way, the 26-year-old isn’t the perfect Casemiro replacement. He is best as a number eight than as a number six but is someone who is much better at slowing tempo down, playing between the lines, beating the press and often popping up in advances areas.
