“We’ll see this afternoon,” said Guardiola on whether Rodri will be ready to feature against Brentford, indicating that a late decision will be made on the Spain international.
On how much City have missed Rodri since his calf injury against Arsenal, Guardiola added: “We have survived without him for many, many months; make a little bit problem of that.
“Still he doesn’t feel completely comfortable – and when he will be ready and fit to come back, we’ll see this afternoon – hopefully tomorrow (against Brentford).”
On Gvardiol, Guardiola said: “Yeah, he’s good (to returning to the pitch), he’s training. He feels good, he has been out for many, many months. Last season, he was the important player for us when there were many injuries, played all the games.
“At the end, the body says enough is enough but yeah, (I’m) happy he’s back, you know, hopefully he can help us in the last part of the season and make a good (FIFA) World Cup with Croatia and next season, we can have him again at his best because he’s an important player.
“He’s a central defender, full-back; (he) can play different roles, so fast, so quick; really good to have him back; like Ruben (Dias) as well.”
