The Philadelphia Phillies are off to a troubling start, snapping a 10-game losing streak with Saturday's win.
At 9-19, they are tied with the New York Mets for the worst record in the National League. Could significant changes be coming?
Bleacher Report's Scott Polacek believes so, and it involves Alex Cora, who was fired by the Boston Red Sox this past weekend.
"There may be no more obvious connection for Cora than the Philadelphia Phillies," Polacek wrote Sunday.
He added that Cora's connection with the Phillies' president of baseball operations, Dave Dombrowski, could be key.
"Cora wasn't part of the equation at the time the front office made that decision, though, and president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski has a history with Cora since they worked together in Boston during the 2018 World Series run," Polacek wrote.

A few days ago, The Athletic's Jim Bowden called the Phillies the "most likely landing spot" for Cora due to his relationship with Dombrowski.
Though Bowden added that it's more likely that the Phillies hire him to be manager in 2027, rather than making a mid-season change.
The Philadelphia Phillies have a current record of 9-19.
Analysts believe Alex Cora, recently fired by the Boston Red Sox, could be a strong candidate for a position with the Phillies due to his connections.
Significant changes are anticipated for the Phillies as they seek to improve their performance after a troubling start to the season.

There may be several open managerial positions at the end of the year, but Cora is a strong candidate to take over for a club if a change is necessary.
