Northridge 8, NorthWood 5

Northridge pounced on their rivals and took a 5-0 lead after two innings to set themselves up for an 8-5 win at NorthWood Wednesday afternoon. The three-man pitching staff of Aveary Johnson, Ethan Yoder and Colt Bollinger commanded for the Raiders, striking out eight batters. Northridge also stole seven bases as a group as Dom Ortiz and Luke Mann both were 3-of-4 at the plate. NorthWood was led by Drew Rains and Brody Rondeau, who were both 2-of-3. Northridge is now 3-3, 1-1 NLC while the Panthers drop to 5-2, 1-1 NLC.

Mishawaka 11, Wawasee 1 (5 inn.)

Wawasee was held to just three hits from Garrett Tittle, Kyhan Heisler and Mason McKibben as the Warriors were run-ruled at Mishawaka Wednesday. Brady Blaze drove in the lone run for Wawasee in the fifth before the Cavemen put up five in the bottom inning to secure the walk-off. Wawasee is now 0-5, 0-2 NLC.

SOFTBALL

Plymouth 7, Concord 5

Concord fell as the ‘road team’ against Plymouth Tuesday in Dunlap. The Pilgrims trailed 4-0 before scoring seven runs in its final two innings to defeat the Minutemen. Concord’s Shelby Emerick, Cheyenne Collins and Rheagan Stafford all tallied two hits. Concord is now 2-4, 1-1 NLC.

Fairfield 12, Bremen 2 (6 inn.)

Fairfield broke the game open in the third inning in a rout of Bremen Wednesday in Benton. Lilly Yoder was 4-of-4, driving in two runs and scoring three times while Preslee Caouette was 3-3, driving in three runs on two doubles and Madison Jones was 3-of-4, also driving in three runs. Paige Park threw six innings and earned the win on the mound by striking out five and allowing just two runs. Fairfield is now 8-2, 2-1 NECC.

Northridge 10, NorthWood 0 (6 inn.)

Northridge was held scoreless through two innings but scored in the final four as the Raiders blew past NorthWood Wednesday in Middlebury. The Raiders out-hit the Panthers 12-1 as Leighla Winchester dominated from the mound, throwing six innings and allowing one hit and striking out seven in 66 pitches. At the plate, Rachel Humbarger was 3-of-4 while Tabby Lucas was 2-of-4 and drove in three runs. Northridge is now 2-3, 1-1 NLC while NorthWood is 3-6, 0-2 NLC.
