The Las Vegas Raiders met with Caleb Banks, a promising offensive tackle prospect, but his recurring foot injury is a major concern. Banks recently underwent surgery to address a fracture in his left foot, raising questions about his draft stock.
The Las Vegas Raiders would love to have a healthy Caleb Banks, but his foot injury seems to be something thatâs dropping his stock.
The Las Vegas Raiders have wrapped up their pre-draft visits one week before the draft is set to kick off. On Wednesday, they slid in one last visit. This time, it was with a player who has some pretty elite potential. However, he comes with a huge risk that they are all too familiar with.
According to Ryan Fowler, the Raiders met with Florida Gators offensive tackle Caleb Banks, who is one of the best DT prospects in this draft. Banks' one red flag is a recurring foot injury. The former Gator fractured his fourth metatarsal in his left foot. This injury happened the night before his on-field testing at the 2026 Scouting Combine.
Banks underwent surgery in March to repair the bone and insert a plate. However, this injury is even more significant because Banks has dealt with multiple foot issues over the past two years, including fractures and surgeries in previous years.
In 2022, Tyree Wilson suffered a season-ending foot injury in college at Texas Tech. Wilson fractured his foot and had surgery nine days later. During his pre-draft process, he had an additional surgery on his foot. The Raiders not only drafted him, but also used the No. 7 overall pick on Wilson, who has not yet lived up to those standards.
In three seasons, Wilson has just twelve total career sacks. He hasn't looked like the player most thought he would be and has looked significantly slower than he did before the injury, especially in terms of his get-off on the line when rushing the passer. Wilson is in the last year of his rookie contract, and he may not see a second contract with the Silver and Black.
Is that really what the Raiders want to risk again? Banks has elite potential, as his size is hard to replicate. He is 6'7, 265lbs. Many see shades of Chris Jones in his game. In 34 career college games, Banks accumulated 6.5 sacks, 10.5 tackles for loss, 48 tackles, and two fumble recoveries.
The Raiders are obviously very interested in Banks and likely used this top-30 visit to gather more information on his injury. The Raiders have a need at DT, and Banks could be their pick at No. 36.
Caleb Banks has a recurring foot injury, specifically a fracture of the fourth metatarsal in his left foot, which he recently had surgery to repair.
Banks is seen as risky due to his history of multiple foot injuries and surgeries over the past two years, which could impact his performance and longevity.
Caleb Banks is an offensive tackle prospect, and the Las Vegas Raiders have shown interest in him during their pre-draft visits.
