7. Ceddanne Rafaela put the Red Sox ahead 2-0 in the fourth inning with his third home run of the season. He connected on a sweeper from Scholtens and sent it 379 feet to left field. Rafaela is 16 for 48 (.333) with two home runs, two triples and one double in his past 12 games.
8. Garrett Whitlock struck out two in a scoreless eighth inning. Aroldis Chapman recorded his eighth save in eight opportunities with a perfect ninth inning. He has converted each of his past 23 save chances.
9. Scholtens pitched 4 ⅔ innings, allowing two runs, two hits and four walks while striking out four.
