April 20 (UPI) -- The San Francisco 49ers and All-Pro offensive tackle Trent Williams agreed to a two-year, $50 million contract extension, his agency announced Monday.
Elite Loyalty Sports said Williams' pact includes $37 million in guarantees and a $22 million signing bonus. With his new deal, the 37-year-old offensive lineman will become the first non-quarterback in NFL history to eclipse $400 million in contracts and $225 million in guarantees.
Williams, the No. 4 overall pick by the Washington Redskins in the 2010 NFL Draft, joined the 49ers in a 2020 trade. He started 84 games for the NFC West franchise over the last six years, including his 16 starts in 2025.
The 12-time Pro Bowl selection and three-time first-team All-Pro appeared in 204 games through his first 15 seasons in the NFL.
Williams, who will now be under contract with the 49ers through 2027, received Pro Football Focus' second-best offensive rating among tackles who were in for at least 80% of the maximum snaps played at the position last season.
He rated sixth among tackles in for at least 50% of the maximum snaps played in 2024. Williams rated second among qualifying tackles in 2023.
He was Pro Football Focus' top offensive tackle from 2020 through 2022.
The 49ers will hold their first day of off-season workouts Monday in Santa Clara, Calif. They will hold organized team activities May 27 to 29, June 1 and June 3 and 4. The 49ers' mandatory minicamp will be June 9 and 10.
