The Golden State Warriors secured the No. 11 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft Lottery, marking their first lottery selection since 2021. Despite not moving into the top 10, they have the opportunity to draft a promising prospect in a deep class.
Despite some anticipation, there were no big lucky swings or surprises for the Golden State Warriors on the day of the NBA draft lottery. Yet, for the first time since 2021, the Warriors will be drafting in the lottery, just outside the top-10. Just as they were projected, the Warriors landed with the No. 11 overall selection on Sunday evening with assistant general manager Larry Harris in the building representing the franchise in Chicago. Although they weren't able to miraculously jump towards the top of the draft, the Warriors will still have the chance to land a top prospect in a loaded draft class highlighted by a decorated freshman class. The Warriors are now set to make their highest draft pick since selecting Jonathan Kuminga at No. 7 overall in the 2021 NBA draft. Here's a look at what fans and analysts were saying on social media after the Warriors tabbed with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft.
Warriors offseason:

Let’s see what the FA can get done. Do they have Guts/Creativity to pull off multiple deals?

— Chef (@CurryForGame) May 10, 2026 When looking at who warriors can draft at 11 you need to ask yourself 2 questions, in this order: -what do they do RIGHT NOW to get on the court for a team hoping to make playoffs -what is their long term upside
— Sam Esfandiari (@samesfandiari) May 11, 2026 #DubNation, we officially hold the 11th pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.@cartainc || 2026 Draft Lottery
The No. 11 pick allows the Warriors to select a high-value prospect or use it as a trade asset, potentially impacting their roster for the upcoming season.
This marks the ninth time in franchise history that the Warriors will select 11th overall, and the sixth time since the lottery's implementation in 1985.
Notable players selected with the 11th pick include Klay Thompson, Reggie Miller, and Domantas Sabonis.
Not moving into the top four means the Warriors missed the chance to select a top-tier prospect, but they still have a valuable pick in a deep draft class.

— Golden State Warriors (@warriors) May 10, 2026 The Warriors stick at the 11th spot in the draft. They had a 9.4 percent chance of jumping into the top four, but no lottery luck. It's considered a deep draft. Still a high-value pick that could be used on an intriguing late lottery prospect or as a trade chip.

— trev (@BayAreaTrev) May 10, 2026 Great results for the Warriors. Definitely didn't want a top 4 pick in Kerr's clutches, but we should be able to get an athletic role player (who I still don't know if Kerr would play).
