The high school sports postseason has arrived, and spring sports are beginning to close.
After the first week of baseball and softball playoffs, Terry Sanford and Freedom Christian remain as the only baseball teams left in their respective classifications from Cumberland County, while South View and Gray's Creek remain in softball ahead of their head-to-head matchup on Tuesday for the third round.
Several track and field athletes are headed to the NCHSAA state championship this week, and soccer playoffs begin this week, while Fayetteville sends eight teams to the postseason.

Christian Burnette, Gray's Creek track and field — Burnette finished first place in the NCHSAA 6A regionals shot put throw with a 48-4.5.
Aubry Butler, Terry Sanford girls' lacrosse — Butler scored six goals and dished out an assist in the win over South Brunswick.
Antonio Clark Jr., E.E. Smith track and field — Clark Jr., landed in the first place for the Golden Bulls at the NCHSAA 6A Regional finals in the boys 100 and 200-meter races. He finished with a 10:64 in the 100, and 22:03 in the 200.
Anthony Cook, Douglas Byrd track and field — Cook finished in third place at the NCHSAA 5A Regional finals in the 100-meter race with a 11.55 time.
Damarion Cook, Douglas Byrd track and field — Cook finished first in the NCHSAA 5A Regional finals in the 100-meter dash with a 11.47 time.
A'narri Copeland, Gray's Creek girls' track and field — Copeland finished first for the Bears in the 6A Regionals girls' high jump with a 5-6 jump.
Eli Corney, Freedom Christian baseball — Corney hit two home runs in the Patriots' playoff win over Caldwell Academy.
Jada Cromartie, Terry Sanford girls' track and field — Cromartie finished second in the 6A Regionals girls' 100-meter dash with a 12.52.
