Dodgers arenât cashing in scoring chances, and arenât creating them either

Mick Cronin and the UCLA Bruins deployed a lot of small ball this past season but it turns out that UCLA was smaller than we had even thought. UCLA forward Tyler Bilodeau was measured at the NBA Draft Combine on Tuesday and it turns out heâs 6â7â.
Bilodeau was listed at 6â9â all season long, with those two inches making a big difference on the basketball court. Oftentimes Bilodeau was UCLA's center, battling with seven-footers throughout the Big Ten Conference season, and it turns out he was giving up more size than initially thought.
Even with the suboptimal height, Bilodeau has length with a 7'1" wingspan and a 8'11" standing reach. UCLA played like a smaller team, finishing 14th in the Big Ten in rebounding and 10th in blocked shots. Bilodeau was second on the Bruins with 5.6 rebounds, second only to Eric Dailey Jr.âs 5.8 per game.
Cronin had a more traditionally-sized center with Xavier Booker, but the Michigan State transfer was inconsistent, leading to the 6â11â Booker to playing just 20.1 minutes per game. Size is far from the most important aspect of Bilodeauâs game, as his shooting and floor-spacing made a huge difference for UCLAâs offense in his two years as a Bruin.
Bilodeau is unlikely to be an early selection in this yearâs NBA Draft but the four-year forward could potentially garner some second round consideration. The update on Bilodeauâs size isnât great news for his draft stock, as Bilodeau doesnât appear to have the lateral quickness to guard wings in the NBA and will be undersized against most big men around the league.
After a couple of down years for the UCLA program, weâll see if Cronin prioritizes size at the five more next season.
