He has, unsurprisingly, failed to have the desired impact alongside Casemiro in the middle of the park, prompting Neville to criticise the partnership.
âIâm not saying he (Carrick) couldâve gone with anything else, but we know it doesnât work. Weâve seen enough evidence of that over the last 12 months or so. When they play together, itâs not great,â the pundit said of the midfield duo.
Alas, Neville predicts that Carrick will call upon Bryan Mbeumo at the brak and move Bruno Fernandes back into a deeper role.
Mason Mount is also available to try and change the game off the bench, although heâs played just two minutes of action since Carrick took charge.
