The Chicago White Sox have been led by Munetaka Murakami this season. He is tied with Aaron Judge for most home runs this season with 13.
And while he is doing great offensively, it would really help this team if a few others, not named Colson Montgomery, would step up and get something going.
However, that is exactly what happened when the club called up catcher Drew Romo a little over a week ago. He had 56 plate appearances for the Colorado Rockies in 2024 and 2025 with zero home runs, but now has three in just five games with the White Sox.

Romo was able to hit the first home run of his career on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Angels, but it didn't end there. He hit another home run in his next at-bat and then hit his third of the season on Sunday against the San Diego Padres.
He was big for the club last week, helping them sweep the Angels and then winning the series 2-1 against the Padres. With this, Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller has bumped the South Siders from No. 27 last week to No. 21 in his latest power rankings.
"Chicago's wholly unexpected leading slugger of the week was Drew Romo. Called up just 10 days ago to take what had been Reese McGuire's roster spot as the backup catcher, Romo entered the week with zero home runs in his 61 plate appearances in the majors. Nevertheless, he homered in back-to-back ABs in Tuesday's win over the Angels and hit a third one on Sunday against the Padres."
The White Sox have a great opportunity to keep this thing going into this week with a series over the Angels again, starting on Monday. While they have had a bit of a rocky start, this is still a group that opposing teams cannot overlook.
