"Logan gave me some good advice to wash off the bad mojo or juju from the baseball gods," Raleigh said, as reported by The Associated Press. "So, yeah, it worked. He was right, so I got to give him credit where credit's due."
Raleigh's hit off relief pitcher Jayden Murray in the seventh inning Tuesday was his first since April 27.
Saggese, who has not produced a hit in his past 28 at-bats, has been waiting longer, more than two weeks longer between hits.
Starting at third base and batting ninth against the Athletics at Sutter Health Park in Sacramento, California, on Tuesday, Sagesse led off the second inning against Jeffrey Springs, who delivered a strikeout on four straight four-seam fastballs.
Springs mixed things up a bit when Saggese led off the fourth inning. The Athletics' starter started with a slider, before coming back with a fastball that was fouled off and striking out Saggese swinging for a second time on a changeup.
Nolan Gorman pinch hit for Saggese in the sixth inning, singled and scored on rookie JJ Wetherholt's two-run home run, lifting the Cardinals to a 6-4 win.
How much longer will the Cardinals stick with Saggese?
They optioned the prospect to Triple-A Memphis already this season following an 18-game stint that featured a .170/.228/.208 slash line.
Saggese returned to the Cardinals before last Saturday's 4-2 loss to the San Diego Padres. In three outings, he went 0-for-8 with three strikeouts, dropping his average to .148.
Raleigh fell short of Chris Davis' all-time hitless skid of 54 at-bats.
