As North Carolina's roster continues to take shape under new head coach Michael Malone, the expectation is that they will take at least one more player.
In Malone's first year, he has to find a way to put together a good roster through the transfer portal and the 2026 recruiting class. UNC needs to be better than a first-round exit from the NCAA Tournament.
But one player who would have helped the case is center Henri Veesaar. After just one season at North Carolina, Veesaar entered the NBA draft with the intent on staying in. That's exactly what the plan is still, even after the first few days of the scouting combine.
Veesaar has no plans to change his mind as he told Jeff Borzello.
āIām all-in on staying the draft," Veesaar said. "Itās 100% my decision to stay. I think itās the right decision, basketball-wise.ā
He then told Borzello that he doesn't think there's any chance of him returning.
North Carolina fans didn't expect Veesaar to return after he entered the draft. However, after some inconsistent play at the combine, maybe it would have cracked the door open a bit? Veesaar decided to shut down any rumors of that and stay in the draft.
