Edwards was initially told he would need at least two weeks to recover, according to The Athletic. However, that projection did not align with his own expectations.
He reportedly began an intensive recovery process after the diagnosis. That included pool workouts designed to reduce pressure on the knee while maintaining conditioning.
Edwards also used a hyperbaric chamber and consulted both specialists and team medical staff. The aim was to explore every available option to speed up healing.
That approach paid off quickly. Although he started from the bench, Edwards still played 25 minutes and delivered a meaningful contribution on his return against the Spurs.
His presence proved crucial as Minnesota secured a 104-102 win at the Frost Bank Center. The result positioned them as early contenders in the series.
Edwards scored 18 points on 62% shooting, while adding three rebounds and three assists. His efficiency helped balance the team’s offence.
