Iowa basketball's Big Ten opponents for the 2026-27 season have been finalized, featuring both single and double play matchups. The Hawkeyes will face teams like Indiana and Michigan State at home, while traveling to play Illinois and Michigan.
IOWA CITY — Iowa basketball's single and double play Big Ten opponents for the 2026-27 season have been announced.
Here's a look at what the Hawkeyes will be facing:
Game dates, times and television information will be announced at a later time.
At first glance, Iowa's Big Ten road schedule looks like a challenge.
The Hawkeyes will travel to daunting environments at Illinois, Purdue and Nebraska. Iowa will also get reigning national champion Michigan on the road. Not to mention that Iowa's West Coast trip has the potential to be a more difficult pairing of UCLA and USC compared to its Pacific Northwest swing against struggling Oregon and Washington last season. Add Wisconsin and Ohio State into the mix, and it has the potential to be a difficult road slate.

Meanwhile, Iowa's home Big Ten schedule appears lighter.
Michigan State, Nebraska and Wisconsin are among the immediate highlights. Pryce Sandfort will return to Carver-Hawkeye Arena again as a member of the Cornhuskers. It's tricky to project exactly where teams will fall in the Big Ten standings next season, so it's possible that another team could emerge as a marquee home game, such as Indiana or Ohio State.
Iowa didn't get the easiest draw of double-play Big Ten opponents. While their rosters will not look entirely the same, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Ohio State all made the NCAA Tournament last season.
After making the first Elite Eight since 1987, Iowa will look to build on its momentum under head coach Ben McCollum. The Hawkeyes are returning at least 10 players from last season's roster and have signed four newcomers. They landed Ty'Reek Coleman (Illinois State) and Andrew McKeever (Saint Mary's) from the transfer portal. Iowa also has a pair of high schoolers joining the program, Jaidyn Coon and Ethan Harris, both of whom are rated as four-star prospects, according to the 247Sports Composite.
