Projecting Florida baseball's seed in 2026 NCAA Tournament

Just one more series remains for Florida baseball before the postseason begins. With the NCAA tournament bracket set to be released on Monday, May 25, the Gators' seeding and chances at hosting a regional round are quickly coming into focus.

Ahead of the three-game road matchup with the LSU Tigers starting on Thursday, USA TODAY Sports put together its full projections for the top seeds and bubble teams as the regular-season schedule wanes. In it, the Orange and Blue are predicted to land a No. 10 seed, earning the privilege of hosting a regional round to start things off.

Of course, Florida still has to play those three games in Baton Rouge plus the SEC Tournament next week before the program can start printing tickets. That said, Gainesville is nearly a lock to host its 13th regional in 18 years under head coach Kevin O'Sullivan (minus the canceled COVID campaign) and 20th of all time — though the last time the regional round came to North-Central Florida was 2023.

The Gainesville Regional will include the Oregon Ducks with a No. 23 seed, the North Carolina State Wolfpack with an at-large bid, and the SIU-Edwardsville Cougars as automatic qualifiers based on their current conference standings.

The Gators sport a 34-18 overall record and a 15-12 mark in SEC play heading into the LSU series, while sitting in the middle of the conference pack. The team is tied with the Mississippi State Bulldogs and Arkansas Razorbacks for sixth place in the conference and is six games behind the league-leading Georgia Bulldogs.
