Seahawks select DB Bud Clark from TCU at No. 64 in 2026 NFL draft

The Seattle Seahawks have made their second pick of the 2026 NFL draft. Once again, they did not trade back and stayed put with the final selection of round two. With the No. 64 overall pick, the Seahawks addressed their secondary by drafting defensive back Bud Clark from TCU. The two biggest needs for Seattle this year were running back and depth in the secondary, due to their losses in free agency, and the team has found answers for both so far.

Bud Clark was a six-year player for the Horned Frogs, spending his entire collegiate career with TCU. When Seattle drafted Jadarian Price in the first round, head coach Mike Macdonald pointed to his loyalty to sticking with the Fighting Irish. It appears loyalty is truly the currency in the realm of the Pacific Northwest, as the Seahawks have found another player who fits that mold.

During his years with TCU, Bud Clark 214 tackles and snagged 15 interceptions, returning two of them for touchdowns. He even recorded a sack last year. The Seahawks lost the solid Coby Bryant to the Chicago Bears earlier this offseason, and finding someone to fill his shoes was a must. Clark is a coverage-versatile safety in a cornerback’s body with the talent to range over the top or man up on the slot. He plays with an overriding desire to do everything all at once – which produces spectacular takeaways and occasional breakdowns – but the good outweighs the bad. He triggers downhill in run support and tackles with proper technique, but a lack of size could lead to broken tackles/durability concerns. He might need time to acclimate to the speed/skill of his opponents but his instincts and ball skills give him a good chance to punish mistakes on the next level as an alignment-flexible option.
