Two Washington Huskies, kicker Grady Gross and quarterback Kai Horton, received invitations to NFL rookie minicamps. Gross will join the Kansas City Chiefs, while Horton will attend the Seattle Seahawks' camp.
After the Washington Huskies saw seven players hear their names called during the 2026 NFL draft, and two more earn undrafted free agent contracts, two more members of Jedd Fisch's 2025 roster earned invitations to rookie minicamps.
Kicker Grady Gross will go through a camp with the Kansas City Chiefs after four years on Montlake. After acting as a kickoff specialist in 2022, he converted 46-of-61 field goal attempts (75.4 percent) and was perfect on extra point attempts, going 152-for-152 over the next three seasons.
Gross' best statistical season came during Washington's march to the national championship in 2023, where he went 18-for-22 on field goal attempts and led the Pac-12 with 117 points.
The Seattle Seahawks also invited backup quarterback Kai Horton to their rookie minicamp after he utilized the transfer portal to make the move from Tulane to Seattle. When meeting with the media last spring, Horton expressed great confidence in his talent after sitting behind Michael Pratt, who was selected in the seventh round of the 2024 draft, and will now get his opportunity to impress NFL coaches.
"I sat behind him for three years and learned a lot of things," Horton said in April 2025. "He always knew that I was more talented than him, and he'll even tell you that himself. It was just he taught me the little things, because I came from having a big, strong arm, being very talented, and I needed to learn how to do the little things, like going to class, going to tutoring, and all that stuff matters. A lot of people don't realize how much that matters because, if you can't do those little things right, how are the coaches gonna trust you to get on the field and do it when it's the fourth quarter."
During his one season with the Huskies, Horton appeared in four games and completed 7-of-13 passes for 98 yards, and added 9 yards with a pair of touchdowns on the ground.
